Slalom Flex (Project Based) – Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

Role:

Slalom Flex (Project Based) – Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

Location:

Remote, or local to Denver Metro Area, or ability to support MST hours.

Responsibilities:

• Support application owners with migration of on-prem SQL Server databases to new domain on shared infrastructure.
• Conduct interviews and use questionnaires to determine requirements for rehosting, including cloud migration options such as Azure or AWS.
• Convert service accounts and RBAC groups to new domain, following best practices.
• Configure database replication, linked servers, and Availability Groups as needed.
• Plan and build SQL Server infrastructure, including resource planning and documentation.
• Expand server resources for existing shared SQL Server instances or Azure SQLMI.
• Install and configure new SQL Server instances, including clustering and failover setups.
• Support decommissioning of legacy databases and infrastructure with proper documentation.
• Assist with application/database upgrades and cloud migration efforts.
• Participate in regular status and planning meetings.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• At least 5 years of experience with SQL migration.
• Experience with on-premises environment migration.
• Deep knowledge of resource configurations and SQL server installations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
