Job description

The Slahal General Manager is passionate about creating amazing dining experiences by managing the seamless training, coordination and execution of front and back of the house operations.

Salary range is based on skills and experience. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide profit-driven, hospitality focused leadership that will delight guests.
• Organize and supervise the daily operations of the front and back of the house teams at Slahal.
• Support team member development and performance management.
• Communicate, train, and ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and hospitality service standards.
• Complete team schedules that provide the necessary coverage to deliver a superior guest experience.
• Manage payroll processing for team members that is accurate and timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills to manage critical financial and operational functions effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Five years of experience in hospitality management
• Three years of experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant environment
• Certified Food Protection Manager certification

PREFERRED
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality management or related field
• Gaming experience
• Experience working with tribal entities

Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.

Competencies:

The ideal candidate brings exceptional communication and customer service skills, with a deep understanding of restaurant, kitchen, and bar operations. Proficient in MS Office, POS systems, and inventory management, they demonstrate strong analytical thinking, time management, and organizational abilities. Knowledge of casino and department policies, gaming and alcohol service compliance, and budget development is essential. A proactive leader, they excel in team management, performance oversight, and creating efficient schedules, while maintaining meticulous records and adapting seamlessly in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires the physical ability to sit or stand for up to 10 hours a day in an office or gaming floor environment, with frequent walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, pushing, and pulling. Candidates should possess strong hand-eye coordination, finger dexterity, and the ability to concentrate in loud or busy settings. The position involves occasional lifting of items up to 40 lbs. and working in a smoke-filled environment.

Additional Requirements:

Our facilities operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year which may require this position to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
