Qualifications

  • Certified Slag Pot Welder with knowledge of welding materials and techniques.
  • Ability to operate various welding machinery and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and repair slag pots and other equipment as needed.
  • Maintain documentation related to repairs and materials used.
  • Operate and maintain welding machinery and cutting equipment.

Skills

Job Description

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking 2 certified Slag Pot Welders to work at our LNYS location in Blytheville, AR. The Slag Pot Welder performs all welding functions for repairing and maintaining slag pots, buckets, ground engaging edges, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

The Slag Pot Welder will:

  • Inspect slag pots to determine necessary repairs
  • Examine and document damage prior to starting repair (written and photographed)
  • Operate and maintain all welding machinery and torch cutting equipment
  • Make recommendations as to the method of repair
  • Weld cracks/washes according to welding procedures
  • Maintain documents related to labor and materials used
  • Requisition necessary welding rods and gases for repair
  • Repair bucket damage, replace cutting edges on equipment, and repair minor cracks in equipment
  • Meet customer service expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate tools (grinding, discs, hand tools)
  • Ability to work outside and tolerate noise and temperature variations
  • Knowledge of welding materials
  • Ability to weld, cut, and fabricate
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hands to manipulate tools
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
