Job description

Your tasks
  • The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer directs, coordinates, and actively participates in the effort to continuously improve the production system. The incumbent develops manufacturing processes, tools, machinery, and plant layouts for the cost-effective manufacturing of the company's products.
  • Works with Production Managers to improve efficiencies and throughput.
  • Conducts Root Cause Analysis for problem solving.
  • Ensures optimum utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools by assisting in feasibility studies and ensuring cost justification.
  • Evaluates improvements and conducts value analysis to reduce costs in engineering and manufacturing.
  • Identifies methodologies and processes to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Manages major projects, including vendor management for timely completion.
  • Assists in training personnel in new equipment startup.
  • Troubleshoots problems as necessary.
  • Conducts time studies to ensure standards for products.
  • Assists in equipment selection.
  • Identifies automation opportunities.
  • Leads training in new equipment startup.
  • Works with Product Engineering on manufacturability.
  • Keeps updated on new technology in equipment, processes, and automation.
  • Ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Develops methods to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Trains other Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Reviews machinery and processes for capacity maximization.
  • Collaborates with departments to resolve engineering issues.
  • Adheres to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHAS 18001 standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Your profile
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, NX or SolidWorks, PLM, InTouch, FEA software, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
  • Goal-oriented, results-driven, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to plan, manage deadlines, and multitask.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with measurement equipment like calipers and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of processing materials via extrusion and injection molding.
  • Educational background: BS in Mechanical, Plastics/Polymers, or Industrial Engineering; MS preferred.
  • 6-10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Working conditions include exposure to noise, heat, heavy lifting, and safety equipment use.
