Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a skinning operator for our Clinton, IA rendering facility.

The role involves processing cattle mortalities, removing hides, evisceration, and size-reduction using hoists, saws, and knives, with a strong emphasis on safety and housekeeping. Responsibilities include following GMP guidelines, collaborating with plant personnel, and working shifts including overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred.
• Slaughter house experience a plus.
• Willingness to work in a team concept and high level of reliability.

Responsibilities

• Operate bobcats, knives, hoists and saws to process cattle mortalities.
• Sort cattle mortalities by age, remove hides, eviscerate, split, remove CMPAF material, and grind mortalities into processing sizes.
• Maintain good housekeeping before, after, and during each shift.
• Follow all company policies and GMPs pertaining to the job requirements.
• Perform other job duties as directed by the Plant Manager or Assistant Plant Manager.
• Assure equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
• Maintain safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Job Summary

The skinning position sorts cattle mortalities following GMP's and removes the hide from cattle, cuts cattle into pieces, eviscerates, and removes CMPAF material as needed using hoists, lifts, bobcats, loaders, saws, shears, and knives.

Minimum Qualifications

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.


• Frequently must push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.


• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and/or slippery floors, and high heat and/or cold temperatures.
