Job summary

The Arc of Cape May County is seeking a capable educator/coach to deliver Pre-ETS components and coordinate transition services for students preparing for employment. You will lead group sessions, assess interests, and guide students toward individualized career pathways with hands-on workplace support.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, coordinating benefits counseling, and maintaining strong communication with families, employers, and school staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associates degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with students or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Experience providing employment services, vocational training, job coaching, classroom instruction, or transition services is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver Pre-ETS components: job exploration counseling, workplace readiness, and self-advocacy instruction.
• Lead group instruction during three pre-employment and three post-employment weeks.
• Conduct vocational interests inventories and establish individualized career pathway goals.
• Provide on-site skills training and coaching throughout each student’s 150-hour paid work experience.
• Conduct regular worksite visits to monitor student performance and provide support.
• Accurately document student participation, work hours, progress, and outcomes.
• Coordinate benefits counseling before students begin their paid work experiences.
• Communicate regularly with students, families, employers, school personnel, and other members of the support team.
• Help students develop workplace confidence, independence, communication skills, and professional behaviors.
• Identify and address barriers that may affect a student’s success in the workplace.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
