Starting Wage: $22.50 to $23.75 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Promote mental health recovery through a person-centered approach emphasizing independence and integration.
  • Conduct mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions for clients with emotional/behavioral impairments and serious mental illness who are served by the Division of Mental Health.
  • Provide direct service, case management, and skills training as primary interventions; ensure services are aligned with each client’s treatment plan and recovery goals.
  • Document timely and accurately in accordance with agency policies; prepare progress reports for referral sources as needed.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders; communicate with referring agencies regularly.
  • Deliver recovery coaching in home or community settings; support development of natural supports to foster independence.
  • Meet workload expectations, supervise caseloads as required, and participate in supervision (2 hours per month; 4 hours if primarily a DCS caseload).
  • Provide services in accordance with agency policies and applicable clinical modalities; ensure compliance with program metrics and reporting requirements.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as assigned; transport clients when clinically relevant and other options have been exhausted.
  • Possibly participate in Mobile Crisis response or on-call services upon meeting qualifications.
Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree is required for DSC Team/Juvenile Probation; other Skills Trainers may require a high school diploma or GED. A degree in social services, psychology, or mental health is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Prior direct-service experience in assessment, planning, case management, or related areas is preferred but not required.
  • Certifications/Licensure: If working in substance abuse case management, hold or pursue relevant certifications/licensure (ICAADA/NAADAC) or state/national certifications; for DCS work, meet DCS education and qualification standards.
  • Background: Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screen and comprehensive background checks (criminal, child protective services, etc.).
Benefits and Compensation
  • Base wage opportunities up to $28.25
  • Four-day (32-hour) work week
  • Potential to earn up to $525 per week via Mobile Crisis On-Call opportunities (in eligible counties)
  • Eligible for up to $150/month ($1,800 annually) in student loan repayment
  • Referral incentive: $750 for every hired referral who remains employed 6 months, plus $500 annually while both stay employed
  • Bilingual wage premiums for Spanish or Burmese speakers
