Job summary

DABS, Inc. invites applications for Direct Support Professional roles in Oakland, California. You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily tasks, community activities, and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and TB test provided if needed.
• Starting pay rate posted: $18–$25 per hour, paid weekly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily tasks such as meal prep, light housekeeping, errands, and personal hygiene.
• Take individuals on community outings to appointments or activities.
• Track and document changes in health and behavior to support care.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration when needed.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to provide comprehensive support.
• Maintain a caring attitude and support independence and dignity.
• Ensure reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be willing to undergo a fingerprint background check.
• Full and part-time shifts; day, evening, and overnight options.

As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll be a trusted presence in the lives of those we serve. Whether you’re helping with day‑to‑day tasks or supporting a new life skill, you’ll play a meaningful role in someone’s journey toward greater independence.

• Support individuals with everyday activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and personal hygiene routines.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document changes in overall health and behavior to support their care.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration when needed.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—but if you bring passion and dedication, we’ll provide the training.
