Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Saint Charles, MO seeks qualified MIG Welders for a manufacturing associate-to-hire role. You will read blueprints, weld galvanized, carbon, and stainless steel, and produce clean, high‑quality welds.

Shifts include 6:00am–2:30pm, 2:30pm–11:00pm, and 10:00pm–6:30am with overtime potential. You will set up welding equipment, adjust settings for proper penetration and appearance, measure with tape and gauges, and inspect welds.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
• Hands-on MIG welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Proficient in reading tape measures using fractional and decimal measurements.
• Basic math skills to calculate dimensions and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG welding on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
• Weld galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel while maintaining quality standards.
• Adjust welding equipment and settings to ensure proper penetration, appearance, and consistency.
• Produce clean, high-quality welds with minimal smoke, splatter, and rework.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and part specifications.
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, protractors, and other tools.
• Fabricate parts and assemblies using welding fixtures, tables, clamps, and other equipment.
• Identify and communicate production concerns or safety issues to supervisors.

Welders Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up and operate welding equipment to perform MIG welding on a variety of metal components and assemblies
• Weld galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel while maintaining proper quality standards
• Adjust welding equipment and settings as needed to ensure proper weld penetration, appearance, and consistency
• Produce clean, high-quality welds with minimal smoke, splatter, and rework
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, tolerances, and part specifications
• Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, protractors, and other measuring tools
• Fabricate parts and assemblies using welding fixtures, tables, clamps, and other necessary equipment
• Complete projects to print specifications, including jobs that require fabrication without the use of fixtures
• Identify and communicate production concerns, quality issues, or equipment adjustments needed to supervisors and team members
• Maintain consistent production levels while meeting established quality and safety standards
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of PPE such as safety glasses and welding gloves
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Welders Requirements:

• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
• Hands-on MIG welding experience required
• Ability to weld galvanized steel, carbon steel, and stainless steel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances
• Proficient in reading tape measures using both fractional and decimal measurements
• Basic math skills with the ability to calculate dimensions and measurements
• Ability to set up welding equipment and make adjustments independently
• Comfortable working from blueprints and completing projects with or without welding fixtures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and meeting deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors
• Stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work overhead
• Lift, push, and pull materials, with frequent exertion of up to 60 pounds of force
• Use hands and fingers to grip, handle, and manipulate parts, materials, and tools
• Operate power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment
• Maintain close visual attention to inspect welds, read blueprints, and verify measurements
• Work in environments with loud machinery, welding fumes, and varying temperatures
• Communicate effectively and hear instructions in an active manufacturing environment
• Must follow established safety procedures and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) requirements
• Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
• Ability to work safely around welding equipment, machinery, metal materials, and other manufacturing operations
