Job summary

Lexicon, Inc. is seeking a Welder responsible for welding material according to job orders. The role is safety sensitive due to the risk to workers and the public.

Responsibilities include interpreting welding symbols, selecting materials, and preparing pieces for processing and shipping. Qualified candidates will have at least two years of welding experience, the ability to read welding symbols and drawings, and must pass several technical tests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ welding experience required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend welding symbols and instructions.
• Must be able to read and understand structural drawings.
• Must be able to pass a tape measure test.
• Must be able to pass an unlimited thickness groove plate test in the vertical and overhead positions using FCAW and SMAW.
• Must be able to carbon arc gouge the back side of butt joints to sound metal.

Responsibilities

• Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish for fitting, painting, and shipping.
• Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding.
• Clean welded pieces for next phase of processing.
• Adhere to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations.
• Work overtime and maintain punctual attendance.
• Perform non-essential functions as needed.
