Job summary

Old Dominion Brush Company (ODB) in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a Welder to join the Welding and Fabrication department. The role involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated steel frames on the production floor, with attention to blueprint-driven assembly and quality verification.

Candidates should have MIG welding experience (and TIG), readable blueprints, and the ability to use measuring tools accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of metal fabrication/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Fab shop and welding experience a plus.
• JD Edwards experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Welds using MIG and TIG welds in vertical, flat, horizontal or overhead positions.
• Reads and interprets engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Uses measuring tools (tape measure, square) to verify weld quality.
• Prepares and finishes components by grinding or sanding as needed.
• Operates overhead crane/hoist and material handling equipment.
