Xcel Energy in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Journeyman Transmission Line Worker to join our team. The role requires hands-on experience with overhead and underground transmission construction, maintenance and safety compliance.

You will handle energized lines, hot-stick operations, and emergency callouts in a demanding field. The ideal candidate will have a Journeyman Lineman Certification, a Class A CDL, and the stamina to work in varied weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Lineman Certification approved by the DoL.
• Completion of an approved apprentice line program or 5 years of progressive electric lineman experience.
• Must have a Class A CDL.
• capable of performing all aspects of electric transmission overhead/underground construction, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Available for emergency callouts as per schedule.
• Travel for extended periods may be required.
• Must lift up to 90 pounds and pass a physical exam.
• Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and groundwork.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and remove overhead and underground transmission conductors and equipment.
• Climb poles and work on energized conductors and equipment (hot stick work).
• Perform transmission construction, operations and maintenance tasks.
• Adhere to company safety rules and participate in required testing/assessments.
