Job summary

Lake Region Trailers in Chippewa Falls, WI is seeking an experienced trailer technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, service trucks, and related equipment. You will work from schematics and manuals, coordinating with parts staff and customers to ensure quality repairs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 2–3 years of mechanical repair or trailer service experience, with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years of experience in mechanical repair, trailer service, automotive service, equipment maintenance, or a related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot problems systematically.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and technical instructions.
• Welding, fabrication, cutting, blueprint reading, or technical/vocational training is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Clear communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair trailers, service trucks, and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, brake, suspension, lighting, and other truck and trailer systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to identify and repair issues.
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and safety standards.
• Work closely with parts personnel, other technicians, supervisors, and customers to coordinate repair needs.
• Document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
• Perform final inspections and functional testing before equipment is returned to service.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and take good care of company tools and equipment.
