Job summary

Thornton & Grooms is seeking a Trades Recruiter in Farmington Hills, MI, to own full-cycle recruiting for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Drains, and other skilled trades. You will proactively source and headhunt passive candidates, build relationships with trade schools, and coordinate hiring with managers to ensure top talent fills critical roles.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
• Skilled trades, blue-collar, or technical recruiting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Drains, or related trades is a plus.
• Proactively source and recruit passive candidates.
• Strong communication, interviewing, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with ATS platforms, recruiting technology, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Drains, and other skilled trades positions.
• Proactively source and headhunt passive candidates for hard-to-fill roles.
• Build relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, veteran organizations, and workforce development partners.
• Conduct phone screens and interviews and coordinate the hiring process with managers.
• Champion the employee referral program.
• Maintain strong candidate pipelines and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.
• Attend career fairs, trade shows, hiring events, and community events.
• Partner with Marketing on creative recruiting campaigns.
• Track recruiting results, including time-to-fill, source of hire, retention, and hiring goals.
• Manage candidate activity and maintain accurate records within our ATS.

We’re looking for a Trades Recruiter who knows how to find great people—not just wait for them to apply. You’ll own full-cycle recruiting for our skilled trades positions, proactively sourcing and headhunting top talent while building strong pipelines for our future.
