The Pipefitter is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining building service piping, related to water, waste water, steam, compressed air/gases, and chemistry delivery into buildings across Kodak Rochester Facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install and make improvements on building system equipment and building general systems (includes process piping, building service piping, pneumatics, and hydraulics) to Kodak standards.
- Work with a variety of materials and piping system components (stainless steel, steel, glass-lined, plastic, copper, fiber cast, soldering, solvent welding, threading, etc.)
- Achieve a high level of process expertise to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment, including root cause analysis.
- Maintain steam traps, specialized valves, filtration systems, steam ejectors, and other specialized equipment.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.
- Demonstrate flexibility to change based on priorities.
- Some experience or expertise in mechanical, HVAC equipment and process controls would be a plus.
- Welding certification a plus.
- Maintain a clean work area and operate in a safe manner at all times.
- Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Read pipe and machine drawing specifications to determine layout of pipe systems.
- Understand piping codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids).
- Work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills – daily communications with team and internal and external customers/tenants.
- Be a team player – willing to be flexible, often work in other areas and with other trades as needed to support the team.
- Significant walking, climbing stairs, or other means of mobility.
- Wear protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.
- Be certified to operate equipment such as Man lift, Boom lift, fork truck, etc.
- Have necessary hand tools to perform daily tasks.
- Conduct backflow testing if certified.
Knowledge:
