This position repairs, alters, constructs, modifies, and uses all acceptable plumbing methods and practices by plumbing code to provide routine and preventative maintenance throughout the organization and grounds as directed by Management. The purpose of the role is to provide an outstanding service to customers, by providing a flexible, productive and efficient response in delivering a wide range of maintenance and improvement work.
(34%)*Works from verbal and written orders, sketches, drawings and manufacturer's specifications.
(33%)*Performs programmed and preventative maintenance. Installs, lubricates and repairs machinery, mechanical, and other equipment (i.e. pumps, ice makers, steam distribution, etc).
(33%)*Repairs plumbing equipment and dismantles equipment as referenced above. Replaces faulty or defective mechanical, electrical and plumbing parts. Restores equipment systems.
Credential: Licensed Plumber is preferred, but other skilled trades will be considered

Knowledge and competency of core trade, construction, blueprint reading, electricity, and mathematics as acquired through completion of State of Michigan Plumber License.
Must maintain an active license in core trade.
Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
