Job summary

MarketBridge north of Boston is seeking an experienced welder/fabricator to fabricate and weld structural steel, stairs and railings. You will read shop drawings, lay out and fit-up, cut, drill, grind and prep material, and may assist with field installation from time to time.

Requirements include several years of structural or miscellaneous metals experience, proficiency in MIG and flux-core welding, and the ability to read drawings with a tape measure.

Qualifications

• Several years of structural steel or miscellaneous metals experience.
• Skilled in MIG and flux core welding
• Able to read shop drawings and work accurately with a tape measure
• Dependable, flexible and willing to work overtime
• Able to pass a short weld test
• Stairs and railings experience is a plus
• AWS D1.1 certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding beams, columns, frames and other structural steel
• Building miscellaneous metals such as stairs and railings
• Reading shop drawings and doing your own layout and fit-up
• Cutting, drilling, grinding and prepping material
• Possibly helping with field installation from time to time
