Job summary

United Steel, New England's largest fabricator and erector of structural steel and miscellaneous metals, is seeking experienced Machine Operators with 2-3 years' experience. The role involves safely operating simple machines, using overhead cranes, and collaborating with engineering personnel to support production.

2nd shift starts at 3:30pm, Mon - Fri. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2–3 years of machine operating experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED and/or Vocational School.
• 2–3 years of machine operating experience preferred.
• Basic shop math, reading and writing with ability to interpret English.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine shop equipment to support production needs.
• Detect and report potential issues to supervision.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and comply with safety rules.
• Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Handle equipment such as saws, drill, shear brake, and related devices as trained.
