Job summary

Delta Metals, Inc. in Savannah, GA is hiring a Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our field crew focused on fabrication and installation of commercial duct systems. You will set up fabricating machines, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of structural assembly experience – sheet metal – fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work at heights.
• Able to walk stairs and climb ladders for prolonged periods.
• Must perform basic math and use dimensional formulas.
• Ability to use a phone/tablet for data entry and timekeeping.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
• Inspect fabricated pieces to ensure they meet drawings.
• Use calipers and height gauges to verify dimensions.
• Operate hand tools like drill presses, grinders, and orbital sanders.
• Interpret blueprints and follow technical guides.
• Troubleshoot installation issues of duct systems.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and safe.
• Follow safety protocols on site.
