Job summary

ProTec Building Services is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform multi-trade work across assigned buildings and common areas. You will handle carpentry, concrete, electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, and related tasks, coordinating with team members to complete repairs and improvements.

The role requires 3+ years of cross-trade experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in at least 2 trades (e.g., Framing, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, Drywall).
• Trade, OSHA, and equipment certifications are a plus but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with no DUI/DWI in the past five years.
• Ability to use a variety of construction, power, and hand tools.
• Possesses necessary tools to complete assignments.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills in construction and maintenance.
• Knowledge of construction materials, applications, and tools.
• Self-starter who can work unsupervised.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Focus on site safety for self, team, and others; proficient with basic tech.
• Reliable transportation to transport materials/tools to worksites.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, work at heights, and endure extreme weather; able to climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual observation on building components and site amenities and report hazards.
• Lead teams on projects and repairs as directed by management.
• Read technical data and manufacture specs to perform repairs and installations.
• Respond to maintenance requests and complete work orders or scope of work.
• Assist coworkers as directed by management.
• Evaluate job sites to determine material quantities and types.
• Ensure best installation and application methods are used.
• Procure and deliver materials for jobs.
• Review technical data and MSD information to maintain safety on jobs.
• Maintain safety compliance and up-to-date site records.

Summary

This position entails performing regular maintenance technicians of assigned jobs. Duties include performing work involving the skills of two or more trades to maintain building and common areas components and structures. Duties may involve carpentry, concrete, light electrical, light plumbing, painting, drywall, etc.

Skills and Abilities

• Skilled Maintenance Technician requires (3) or more years of working experience in at least 2 of the following trades: Framing, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Painting, Welding, Drywall, Stucco, Masonry, and/or Roofing.
• Trade, OSHA, and Equipment Certifications are a plus but not a requirement for the position.
• Valid Driver’s License without any restrictions, no DUI or DWI in the past five years.
• Ability to use various construction, power, and hand tools.
• Possesses all necessary tools to complete various job assignments.
• Knowledgeable and ability to perform research and problem-solving in most aspects of construction and maintenance.
• Has working knowledge of construction materials, material applications, and tools.
• Self-starter, and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Good communication skills.
• Responsible for the safety of the site, team, and self.
• Proficient with technology including basic computer skills, software, smartphone, and tablet.
• Transportation is required and must be reliable, presentable in working conditions, and able to transport and deliver materials and tools such as ladders, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to the worksites.
• Physical Abilities: The ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to continually climb, balance, stoop, and kneel sometimes for prolonged periods of time is required.

• Read all technical data and MSD information to maintain high-level safety on jobs and follow the Safety Code of Conduct.
