Job summary

ProTec Building Services is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform carpentry, concrete, electrical, plumbing and related tasks across assigned sites.

You will read technical data, execute repairs to high standards, lead project teams as needed and document activities in daily logs. A valid license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in at least two trades.
• Certifications a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license without major restrictions.
• Ability to use various construction, power and hand tools.
• Self-starter with good communication and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual observations on building components and report hazards.
• Lead teams on projects and repairs as directed by management.
• Read technical data and manufacturer specs for repairs and installs.

Summary

This position entails performing regular maintenance technicians of assigned jobs. Duties include performing work involving the skills of two or more trades to maintain building and common areas components and structures. Duties may involve carpentry, concrete, light electrical, light plumbing, painting, drywall, etc.

Skills and Abilities

• Skilled Maintenance Technician requires (3) or more years of working experience in at least 2 of the following trades: Framing, Concrete, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Painting, Welding, Drywall, Stucco, Masonry, and/or Roofing.
• Trade, OSHA, and Equipment Certifications are a plus but not a requirement for the position.
• Valid Driver’s License without any restrictions, no DUI or DWI in the past five years.
• Ability to use various construction, power, and hand tools.
• Possesses all necessary tools to complete various job assignments.
• Knowledgeable and ability to perform research and problem-solving in most aspects of construction and maintenance.
• Has working knowledge of construction materials, material applications, and tools.
• Self-starter, and the ability to work unsupervised.
• Good communication skills.
• Responsible for the safety of the site, team, and self.
• Proficient with technology including basic computer skills, software, smartphone, and tablet.
• Transportation is required and must be reliable, presentable in working conditions, and able to transport and deliver materials and tools such as ladders, wheelbarrows, and other equipment to the worksites.
• Physical Abilities: The ability to lift 50 pounds, work at heights and able to work in extreme weather conditions, able to continually climb, balance, stoop, and kneel sometimes for prolonged periods of time is required.

• Job site evaluation to identify the amount and type of materials needed to complete the job.
• Perform all work using the best installation and application process.
• Procure and deliver materials for jobs.
• Read all technical data and MSD information to maintain high-level safety on jobs and follow the Safety Code of Conduct.
