Job summary

QPS Employment Group has a Maintenance Technician position in Jackson, WI. This is a 1st shift direct hire role offering $30.00-$35.00 per hour based on experience. Hours are 7:00am-3:30pm.

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, diagnose issues, and coordinate repairs. Candidates should be capable of documenting activities, maintaining shop organization, and following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of production processes and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and understand plant operations.
• Capable of coordinating repairs with maintenance staff and external services.
• Basic computer use to document maintenance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and proper tool storage.
• Manufacturing maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery to support reliable operations and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and assist with more complex repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance team members and external service providers on equipment repairs and servicing.
• Develop and maintain working knowledge of plant equipment, production processes, machinery, and operating procedures.
• Document completed maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities using basic computer applications.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient maintenance shop.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and readily available.
• Follow applicable safety procedures while operating tools and equipment and performing maintenance tasks.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment and machinery to support reliable operations and minimize downtime.

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

• Thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the interest of diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance duties on equipment as required and maintains competent knowledge of equipment, operations and processes throughout the plant.
• Capable of addressing minor repairs and coordinating more significant repairs with fellow maintenance personnel and/or external services as needed.
• General computer use knowledge - keeps documents/records of all maintenance performed, as it occurs.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position including but not limited to: able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time, squat/kneel, climb stairs/ladders, operating equipment/power tools, and able to grip/grasp/pinch and reach overhead, as require.
• Assist in keeping our shop environment clean, organized and efficient, ensuring tools and equipment are in their designated places and ready for use.
• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
