Job description

Join to apply for the Skilled Laborers for Capital One Arena role at Blackwood of DC, LLC.

Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.

Minimum of 4 Years of Experience in the Following:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. without restrictions
  • Basic construction experience on commercial sites
  • Use of hand-held tools
  • Use of power tools, drills, vibrators, compressors
  • Basic Safety Training – 10 hours OSHA
  • Receives direction well and follows through
  • Attendance 5 days per week
  • Reliable transportation
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Concrete Industry
  • Possess valid I.D.
  • The ability to go up and down steps and ladders throughout the day multiple times
  • Assist in the assembly of engineered form systems
  • Strip and panel systems
  • Strip walls, columns, decks
  • Provide support to carpenters, engineers, and rodmen with transport of materials and equipment
  • Operate, understand and maintain power tools
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding
  • Operate and understand concrete vibrators and procedures
  • Operate compaction equipment
  • Perform demolition work and operate compressors with hammers
  • Documented training in PPE, fall prevention/protection, scaffolding, excavation, small power tools, ladders preferred but not necessary
  • Rigger/Signal Person Certification card preferred but not necessary
  • Flagger certification card preferred but not necessary
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not necessary
