Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Skilled Laborer/Groundman to support telecom construction projects in outdoor site environments. You will perform site prep, digs, material handling, and cable system installation while collaborating with teammates to deliver quality results.

You’ll transport equipment, troubleshoot in the field, and progressively learn coax/fiber splicing and other trades. This position offers competitive pay and benefits, with home daily in a community-focused role.

Responsibilities

• Dig trenches, unload materials, and prepare job sites with hand tools.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites and transport equipment daily.
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems.
• Troubleshoot field issues as they arise.
• Learn and train to use various tools and equipment used in telecom construction.

Responsibilities

As a Skilled Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with the use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
• Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
• Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment

Qualifications

• You have a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a DOT med card for driving purposes (CDL preferred; applicants are subject to an MVR review, and must meet company standards for a safe driving record)
• You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career, like Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc.
• You want to make an impact with your local community and enjoy being home daily

MOS Codes 12K, 12N,12V, 12W, 21E, 21J, 25P, 91C, 91L, 11B, 1100, 1120, 1316, 9970-9975, 0612, 2T3XX, 2E1XX, 3E2XX, 3E3XX, 9T0XX, BU, UT relate well to this position.

Compensation of $19-$25 per hour.
