Job summary

H 2 O in Laurel, MS is seeking a Skilled Laborer to support asphalt repair, storm drain repair, water main repair and sewer main repair, plus concrete work as needed.

Candidates must be 18+ years old, have a valid driver’s license, and pass pre-employment drug screenings, background and MVR checks. Willingness to learn all tasks and adhere to safety rules is essential. Benefits are provided and opportunities for growth exist.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
• Knowledge of operating characteristics of assigned equipment.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions.
• Must be willing to learn all assigned tasks and have good work ethics.
• Motivation to learn equipment operations for promotional opportunities.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including H 2 O’s department rules, policies and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other personnel and supervisors.
• Ability to deal with the public on a regular basis in a professional, courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with asphalt repair, storm drain repair, water main repair and sewer main repair.
• Performing concrete work as needed.
• Required experience includes knowledge and ability to run a weed eater and zero turn mower for extended periods of time.
