Job summary

PCM Pipeline Construction & Maintenance, Inc. is seeking a Skilled Laborer to join our field crew. The role involves assembling rigging, assisting with lifting and moving equipment, and working with craft personnel on construction sites or shipyards.

You will help prepare, load, and secure materials and maintain a clean, safe work environment. The candidate should have prior pipeline industry experience and be capable of following safety procedures while performing physical tasks such as lifting

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience working in the pipeline industry.
• Able to assist in removing scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt from equipment.
• Willing to work with craft personnel and assist in loading, unloading and securing loads.

Responsibilities

• Assembles rigging to lift/move equipment or material on construction projects.
• Works with crew to remove substances from equipment as directed.
• Directs and assists in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety.
• Loads, unloads, and secures loads for transport.
• Maintains housekeeping and adheres to safety regulations.

Reports To: Foreman

Summary: Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material in manufacturing plant, shipyard, or on construction project by performing the following duties.

Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities:

• Works with craft personnel and assist in removing scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust and dirt from equipment.
• Utilize shovels and other hand equipment to move products from one place to another as directed.
• Utilize mops and brooms to clean areas of work free of clutter and environmentally friendly.
• Inspect tools for safe usage prior to delivering and/or removing tools from work locations.
• Ensures that a proper inventory of equipment is readily available in trucks, trailers or other tool storage areas.
• Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, by the use of tag lines.
• Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads in order to ensure safety of workers, equipment and materials.
• Assist in the loading, unloading and securing of loads for transportation.
• Dismantle and store rigging equipment out of environmental elements after each use.
• Must have prior experience working in the pipeline industry.

Physical Demands

The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Skilled Laborers must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations. They must also comply with all governmental regulations.
