Job summary

Caos is seeking a Qualified Electrical Technician (Non-Licensed) to perform skilled electrical work in industrial and oil & gas environments. The role operates as a qualified person per internal standards, following NFPA 70E safety practices and NEC knowledge.

The technician works independently or with a crew, mentoring Apprentice Electricians and ensuring safety compliance on site. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 3+ years of industrial electrical experience preferred and OSHA

Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical hazards and safe work practices.
• Understand NFPA 70E requirements for qualified persons.
• Distinguish energized parts from other parts of electrical equipment.
• Demonstrate competency in the use of test instruments and electrical tools.
• Complete internal company competency evaluations.
• Maintain current safety training as required by company policy.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems.
• Interpret and apply electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Perform conduit installation (EMT, RMC, IMC, PVC) including bending, threading, and securing.
• Terminate and test conductors, control wiring, instrumentation wiring, and power distribution systems.
• Install and service motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, switchgear, transformers, and panelboards.
• Perform energized and de-energized troubleshooting in accordance with NFPA 70E safe work practices.
• Conduct voltage testing and verification of absence of voltage using properly rated equipment.
• Apply proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Install and maintain classified area equipment (when applicable).
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.
• Document work performed, materials used, and test results accurately.
• Assist in training and mentoring Apprentice Electricians.
