Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company seeks a skilled operator to manage heavy equipment for road construction and maintenance. You will load and grade surfaces, trench for utilities, and ensure safe, efficient machine operation on diverse terrains.

The role requires the ability to follow instructions, perform inspections, and assist in training others. Outdoor work in all weather, with possible overtime and weekend shifts, is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain and repair roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check fluid levels and lubrication; maintain equipment as needed.
• Potentially train employees in safe operation of equipment and techniques.
• Inspect equipment and materials to identify issues and defects.
