Job summary

Mortenson seeks an Operator to operate equipment per specifications and safety policies. You will work with a range of heavy machinery, follow pre-task cards, and maintain safe, orderly sites. The role emphasizes teamwork and independent problem-solving within project teams.

Required are a valid driver's license and at least one year of related experience, plus ability to read manuals and load charts. The position includes comprehensive benefits and a base pay range.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Current driver's license with required classifications and endorsements.
• Ability to operate equipment by moving levers, gears, pedals, and steering wheels; knowledge of equipment and uses; basic math.
• Must read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Readily work independently with good listening and communication.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs; above 50 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clear and orderly housekeeping.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
