Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator to operate equipment per directions and safety policies. You will handle a range of machines, perform routine maintenance, and follow work plans and safety procedures to keep sites productive.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of related experience, relevant certifications, and a valid driver’s license with required endorsements. Strong teamwork, communication skills, and the ability to read load charts are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year of related experience.
• Current driver's license with endorsements as required by law.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Ability to operate equipment by manipulating levers, gears, pedals, and steering wheels; knowledge of equipment uses.
• Ability to work independently with good communication and openness to feedback.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
