The Role
The Skilled / General Laborer supports construction, remediation, environmental, and drilling operations through hands‑on field work, equipment support, site preparation, and general labor activities. This role is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and productive job sites while supporting field teams with a variety of operational tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑focused, physically capable, and eager to contribute to project success in a team‑oriented environment. This position offers opportunities to gain experience across multiple disciplines, including environmental remediation, construction, drilling, excavation, and site restoration.
What You’ll Be Doing
- General Labor & Field Support
- Perform general construction and labor duties including loading, unloading, digging, lifting, and debris removal
- Support job site preparation, cleanup, and material staging activities
- Assist with excavation, grading, and concrete work as needed
- Move and organize materials, equipment, and supplies throughout project sites
- Equipment & Tool Operation
- Operate and maintain basic hand tools and power tools
- Assist with setting up and dismantling job site barriers, materials, and equipment
- Operate forklifts, skid steers, or small equipment when certified or authorized
- Assist in maintaining equipment and reporting maintenance concerns
- Project Team Support
- Support construction crews, skilled trades, field technicians, engineers, and project teams
- Follow work plans, instructions, and project requirements
- Assist with various field operations as directed by supervisors and project leadership
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company, client, and site‑specific safety procedures
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or hazards immediatelyParticipate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training programs
What You Bring
Required- High School Diploma or GED
- 0–1 years of experience in construction, environmental, industrial, or general labor positions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality
- Basic understanding of construction or field operations
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic equipment
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete Tasman safety and field training requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred- Experience working on environmental, remediation, construction, or oil & gas projects
- OSHA 10‑Hour Certification
- Experience with heavy equipment or mechanical operations
- Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, or diagrams
Work Environment
Field Conditions- Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
- Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and industrial work environments
- Work on uneven terrain and active project sites
- Potential exposure to environmental and construction‑related hazards
- Regular collaboration with construction, drilling, and environmental field crews
Physical Requirements- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the day
- Medium physical effort required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
Schedule
- Full‑time: Monday – Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work based on project requirements
- Start and end times may vary depending on project needs
Work Authorization
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must possess a valid driver's license
