Job summary

The Door Doctor of South Florida is hiring an experienced Garage Door Service Technician to diagnose and repair residential and light commercial garage doors and operators independently. Service calls run primarily throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties, with occasional work in Miami-Dade.

This is not an entry-level position. You will diagnose and repair, replace springs, cables, rollers, and hardware; install and troubleshoot openers; identify safety concerns; educate customers; document

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional garage door experience.
• Strong residential garage door and opener diagnostic skills and ability to complete common repairs independently.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly, work on ladders, and work outdoors in South Florida conditions.
• Must own basic hand and power tools and have a smartphone for company apps.
• Light commercial experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial garage doors and operators.
• Replace springs, cables, rollers, bearings, hinges, drums, tracks, and hardware.
• Install, replace, program, and troubleshoot garage door openers.
• Identify safety concerns and worn components.
• Educate customers about their system and available options.
• Provide honest recommendations without high-pressure sales.
• Document work with photos and job notes using company apps.
• Maintain a clean service vehicle.
