Job summary

DPR Construction in Palo Alto is seeking skilled drywall tapers to deliver high-quality finishing work that prepares surfaces for final coatings.

You will apply joint compound and tape, perform sanding and feathering to achieve smooth, paint-ready surfaces, inspect work for alignment with project specs, coordinate with trades, and maintain clean, safe work areas while supporting project timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or 2 - 4 years of drywall taping/finishing experience.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred; OSHA 10 within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Applies joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Uses sanding, feathering, and finishing methods to achieve smooth, uniform surfaces ready for painting or final finishes.
• Inspects completed taping work for consistency, smoothness, and alignment with project specifications, addressing deficiencies as needed.
• Coordinates with other trades and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Identifies and communicates complex taping or finishing challenges to leadership for resolution.
• Ensures work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe throughout all phases of taping and finishing.
