Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a physically capable construction worker for on-site heavy civil projects across North America. The role requires reading blueprints, shaping and joining materials, and operating hand and power tools.

You must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be prepared for long shifts, often 50 to 70 hours per week, in varying weather conditions. Projects include dam work, utility pipelines, tunneling, and heavy infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare layout and determine materials.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines or power saws.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using ruler and pencil.
• Verify trueness of structure using plumb bob and level.
• Assemble cut and shaped materials and fasten them with nails or glue.
• May use carpenters tools, power tools, bench tools, concrete saw, chipper, sander.
• Assist in other operations as designated by supervisor.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
