Job summary

Fulton County in Georgia seeks a skilled Carpentry Technician within the Department of Real Estate & Asset Management. The role involves repairing and constructing cabinetry, flooring, ceilings, walls, doors, and roofs on county facilities, with hands-on work in a shop and on-site locations.

You will cut, fit, install doors/windows, assemble furniture, and perform finishing touches while operating power tools and maintaining materials inventory.

Qualifications

• Completion of coursework equivalent to the academic requirements of a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; two (2) years carpentry experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and constructs cabinetry, flooring, ceilings, walls, doors, and roofs.
• Cuts lumber and fits/joins lumber for construction and repair; installs doors and windows; handles sheetrock and siding; designs and builds porches and flooring; trims and finishes projects.
• Operates power tools such as sanders and saws to perform carpentry work.
• Inventories materials and equipment to maintain adequate supply levels.
• Performs cleanup duties, including removing paint spills and debris, and performing touch up work as needed.
• May be required to serve on a 24-hour on-call basis.
