An award-winning design/build general contractor specializing in residential and light commercial remodeling is seeking a talented and bright Full-Time Skilled Carpenter. The successful candidate will be entrusted to use a company vehicle for project pick-up and delivery logistics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Handle pickup and delivery logistics for construction materials.
2. Perform carpentry work at a high level with minimal supervision.
3. Interpret blueprint drawings and written specifications.
4. Understand work orders, change orders, and related documents.
5. Know and apply building codes in all work.
6. Perform demo, rough, and finish carpentry according to standards and plans.
7. Report discrepancies and special conditions to the Project Manager or relevant staff.
8. Lay out and install stud wall framing.
9. Install stairs, using framing square, for basements or decks.
10. Establish grades for drainage of flatwork and structures.
11. Use a transit level to establish grades and elevations.
12. Install wall-hung cabinetry, pre-hung doors, windows, and interior trim with craftsmanship.
13. Install drywall and tape properly.
14. Perform minor repairs in painting, staining, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and flooring.
15. Maintain jobsite safety, protect the site, and care for tools.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Minimum four years of carpentry experience.
2. Proficiency in rough and finish carpentry.
3. Ability to meet quality standards.
4. Familiarity with construction software (e.g., CoConstruction/Buildertrend); willingness to learn.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Ability to read and understand construction documents.
7. Neat appearance.
8. Reliable vehicle.
9. Availability to work 40 hours per week (typically Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm).
10. Physical ability to perform demanding work.
11. Valid North Carolina driver’s license and a good driving record.
12. Tools required include basic hand tools and power tools listed.
