Location: Alamano Heights and Dominion Area
Pay: $15 for CNAs and $14 for Non-licensed
Job Description:
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide care and support to a client in Alamano Heights and the Dominion Area. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, providing companionship, and ensuring the well-being of the client.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- The caregiver shall obtain vital signs, record them, and notify the office of deviations according to standard practice.
- Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, hair care, shaving, deodorant application, skin care with lotions and/or powder, foot care, and ear care (Q-tips are not to be used).
- Assist with nail care and oral hygiene to facilitate treatment or prevent deterioration (nail cutting or filing will NOT be done).
- Change bed linens and make the bed.
- Assist with eating and maintaining adequate nutrition and fluid intake when appropriate.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers, including helping patients to the toilet/commode, with bedpans, and other elimination needs, as well as assisting in and out of bed and with other transfers as appropriate.
- Perform incidental household services essential to patient health care, such as light housekeeping, straightening the room, and laundry.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Understand and apply basic infection control principles and procedures, and contact the supervisor with any concerns related to infection control.
- Follow the Plan of Care as instructed by the Agency's healthcare professional.
- Document appropriately according to the Plan of Care and submit all documentation per agency policy.
- Observe physical and behavioral changes in the patient's condition or family situation and report to the office.
- Follow the visit schedule and indicate any necessary changes.
- Promptly contact patients and the office if unable to visit as scheduled, providing a full report on patient care and visit times.
- Communicate appropriately with patients, families, and Agency personnel.
- Attend required in-services and meetings, with a minimum of 12 hours of in-service per year.
- Adhere to the Agency's Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities as indicated.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with auto insurance.
- Previous experience in caregiving is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be compassionate, dependable, and trustworthy.
