Overview

This is an onsite role located in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The GDOTS DoD Skillbridge Internship program is open to all ranks, enlisted or officer. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military pay and benefits. The internship offers military personnel a chance to gain civilian experience through industry training during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation must be approved by the individual's chain of command prior to starting, and all necessary documentation must be completed.

This program is available to active-duty Military Members of all branches and Military Spouses. Participants will job-shadow and learn from experienced leaders and motivated peers, developing skills in mission-critical work.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal users of computer applications and hardware (e.g., PCs, servers, mainframes).
• Answer questions regarding system procedures, transactions, system status, and downtime, typically within a call center environment.
• Collaborate with network services, software engineering, and application development teams to restore service and identify issues.
• Maintain a troubleshooting log to ensure timely problem resolution.
• Respond to end-user requests via phone, email, or ticketing system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues related to computers, applications, systems, devices, access, or performance.
• Document, track, and resolve problems using established processes to meet service standards.
• Research solutions using product information or databases.
• Advise users on resolving and preventing issues, providing documentation as needed.
• Escalate complex problems to appropriate teams.
• Support software or device installations, user profile setups, or password resets.
• Meet all response time and quality service standards.

Qualifications

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

• Served at least 180 days on active duty.
• Within 12 months of separation or retirement.
• Honorable discharge expected.
• Completed any required service TAPS/TGPS.
• Attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
• Received written approval from the Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade) to participate.
• Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications per DODI 1322.29.

Applicants should have a Vocational/Technical Training Degree or equivalent experience and education.
