About the Opportunity

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Space Network / Communications Systems Engineer to work onsite at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO for our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program. You will liaison with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Satellite Control Network (SCN) to support FROST missions, providing satellite support services to our mission critical customer. FROST conducts real‑time on‑orbit support, launch ascent support, and End‑of‑Life operations for all NRO Operations Squadron missions and collects performance data on launches for the NRO, DOD, NASA, and commercial industries.

Responsibilities

• Work with Space Systems and satellite systems Engineering Leadership developing system requirements and providing systems engineering solutions.
• Assist in developing plans and tasks for end‑to‑end system development.
• Modernize space and ground system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
• Support risk management processes and methods.
• Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status and briefs to government as required.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years’ experience OR a master’s degree with 3 years’ experience OR a high school diploma / equivalent with 9 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Systems Engineering experience.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes.
• Familiar with Agile development.
• Familiar with satellite operations or other similar systems.
• Top Secret SCI with a CI Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in server system administration and troubleshooting analysis in Linux, Windows servers, and Oracle/SQL databases.
• Effectively communicate and present to project and program management, other technical managers, and customers.
• Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders from a variety of organizations.
• Solid technical foundation in Systems Engineering processes.
• Experience with Systems Integration and System/Software Testing, including virtualized environments.
• Working knowledge of system design and overall integration into an operational environment.
• Detailed knowledge of Windows and Unix environments.
• Security+ or another DoD 8570 approved certification.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00. The above range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining base salary offers. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses, as well as long‑term incentives for executive positions.
