Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Space Network / Communications Systems Engineer to work onsite at Schriever SFB near Colorado Springs, CO, supporting NRO and SCN missions.

The role includes end-to-end systems engineering, real-time on-orbit support, and coordination with government customers. A TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience or master’s degree with 3 years’ experience or high school diploma / equivalent with 9 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Systems Engineering experience and understanding of systems engineering principles and processes.
• Experience with Agile development and satellite operations or similar systems.

Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Space Network / Communications Systems Engineer to work onsite at Schriever SFB, near Colorado Springs, CO for our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program. The role involves liaising with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Satellite Control Network (SCN) to provide satellite support services to mission‑critical customers and performing real‑time on‑orbit support, launch ascent support and end‑of‑life operations for NRO missions. The engineer will provide the NRO with a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network.

Responsibilities

SkillBridge Eligibility

• Has served at least 180 days on active duty.
• Is within 12 months of separation or retirement.
• Will receive an honorable discharge.
• Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.
• Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
• Received Unit Commander written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

Basic Qualifications

• Systems Engineering experience.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes.
• Experience with Agile development.

• Top Secret SCI with a CI Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in server system administration and troubleshooting analysis on Linux, Windows servers/clients, and Oracle/SQL databases.
• Effective communication and presentation to project and program management, other technical managers and customers.
• Ability to interface with multiple stakeholders from a variety of organizations internally and externally to support requirements development.
• Solid technical foundation in systems engineering processes.
• Experience with systems integration and system/software testing, including virtualized environments.
• Working knowledge of system design and overall integration into an operational environment.
• Detailed knowledge of Windows and Unix environments.
• Security+ or another DoD 8570 approved certification.

Salary

Primary level salary range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00. The range is a general guideline and may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills and market conditions. Eligible employees may also receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and in certain positions, long-term incentives.
