Job summary

Global Medical Response (GMR) is offering a Paramedic Military Fellowship through the DoD SkillBridge program. This opportunity targets active-duty service members within the SouthRegion and runs up to 180 days, focusing on transition to civilian medical response careers.

Responsibilities include on-scene leadership, Advanced Paramedic care using defibrillators and monitors, and coordination with public safety teams.

Qualifications

• Current Active-Duty Service Member.
• Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications.
• Available to participate 90 days.
• Approval from unit commander; SkillBridge can be terminated if mission requires.

Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.

Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180-days.

We’re hiring Paramedics for our DOD SkillBridge Program that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and advanced patient care to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

Other Responsibilities

• Participate in community programs to maintain GMR image and establish strong community relations.

MinimumRequired Qualifications

• Current Active-Duty Service Member
• Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications
• Available to participate 90-days.
• Obtain approval from your unit commander and agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate.
• Work remotely in the continental US
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• State Driver’s License
• National or State PARAMEDIC Certification (as Applicable)
• CPR Certification
• PALS Certification
• PHTLS or ITLS Certification
• Pass Physical Ability Test
• Driving Record in Compliance with Company Policy
