Job summary

Global Medical Response (GMR) is offering an EMT SkillBridge Fellowship for active-duty military members. The program hosts service members for up to 180 days, focusing on emergency and non-emergency medical response with high-quality patient care and service.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, and safe ambulance operations; collaboration with health and public safety teams; and community outreach to support AMR image.

Qualifications

• Current Active-Duty Service Member.
• Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications.
• Available to participate for 90 days.
• Approval from unit commander; SkillBridge can be terminated if needed.
• Work remotely in the continental US.
• High school diploma or GED.
• State EMT License (as applicable).
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS and NREMT.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

Responsibilities

• EMTs provide patient assessment and emergency care using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information and treatment while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, well-stocked environment for patients.
• Use EMT skills for care including communications and equipment.
• Operate an ambulance in accordance with safety policies and traffic laws.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image.

Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.

Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180-days.

We’re hiringEmergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD SkillBridge Fellowshipthat will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities:

• EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
• Use appropriate EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.
• EMTs operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow EMTs.

Other Responsibilities:

• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
