Job description

Title:

*SkillBridge Only* Metrology Technician

Program Summary

This is a SKILLBRIDGE/Career Skills position within KBR’s Embedded Metrology Laboratories, supporting clients such as Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garett Advance Motion, and others. The role involves Laboratory site visits, Test Equipment Calibrations and Repairs, Pyrometry Services, Metrology Engineering, Equipment Inspection, CMM Inspections, and more.

MUST BE

ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND ELIGIBLE FOR THE SKILLBRIDGE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Calibrates and certifies Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, using certified laboratory standards and manufacturer, commercial, or military specifications and calibration procedures.
  2. Calibrates and troubleshoots fault isolation, adjustments, and repairs using TMDE certified laboratory standards.
  3. Troubleshoots and repairs complex TMDE and integrated electronic systems, utilizing theories of operation, schematics, block diagrams, logic trees, and software diagnostics.
  4. Accurately records and reports maintenance actions, resolves customer issues, and seeks to improve departmental productivity by anticipating and eliminating problems.
  5. Conducts uncertainty analysis, develops procedures, and ensures documentation complies with Quality Systems requirements.
  6. Performs all other assigned duties.
Basic Qualifications
  • Completion of formal training from a military, PMEL, TMDE, or calibration school, or applicable technical training and certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, and Met/Cal is a plus.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus. U.S. Citizenship required due to client requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies, including Excel.
