Job summary

REIC Rentals is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join our growing team in Hermiston, OR. This SkillBridge internship serves as the heartbeat of the store, connecting equipment, operations, and customers, with training in safety, inside sales, and process workflows.

As part of the internship, you’ll support reservations, calls, and showroom activity while learning to negotiate rental rates and recommend the safest equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance with safety and customer-first attitude.
• Sales and customer relationship building skills.
• Knowledge of the local valley, terrain, and service area preferred.
• College education preferred.
• Experience in construction environment and operating around heavy and smaller equipment.

Responsibilities

• Answering incoming calls, reservations, and dispatch requests.
• Engaging customers in person and over the phone in a professional, friendly manner.
• Walking the yard daily to stay familiar with equipment availability, condition, and repair status.
• Understanding customer needs and recommending the safest, most suitable equipment.
• Negotiating rental rates to maximize profitability and market share.
• Loading and unloading equipment as needed.
• Maintaining accurate rental transactions and inventory counts.
• Communicating with shop staff on repairs and rent-ready priorities.
• Keeping the counter, showroom, and yard clean and organized.
• Following all safety guidelines and company procedures.

What You'll Do

As an Inside Sales Representative,you’ll be the first point of contact for customers while providing essentialsales and operational support.

Schedule: Monday-Friday| 8 AM - 5 PM and during the summer, our employees are on rotation forSaturdays 8 AM-12 PM

Compensation (if hired after the internship): hourly+ bonus program

Your day will include:

• Answering incoming calls, reservations, and dispatch requests
• Engaging customers in person and over the phone in a professional,friendly manner
• Walking the yard daily to stay familiar with equipment availability,condition, and repair status
• Understanding customer needs and recommending the safest, mostsuitable equipment
• Negotiating rental rates to maximize profitability and market share
• Loading and unloading equipment as needed
• Maintaining accurate rental transactions and inventory counts
• Communicating closely with shop staff on repairs and rent-readypriorities
• Keeping the counter, showroom, and yard clean and organized
• Supporting store organization, snow removal, and seasonal operations
• Following all safety guidelines and company procedures
• Performing additional duties as assigned
