Job summary

NFI Industries in Greer, SC is hiring a Diesel Diagnostic Technician / Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of tractors and trailers. The role supports DOD SkillBridge and GI BILL programs with a competitive hourly wage and a sign-on bonus. Schedule is Monday through Friday with flexible hours to accommodate military duties.

Requires a valid driver’s license; Class B license is a plus. Training and benefits are provided, including uniform and PPE, 401(K) matching, and paid time

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Preferred ability to obtain a Class B license.
• General maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer issues using standard testing procedures and diagnostic equipment (JPRO, OEM Software, Multimeters, Windows).
• Perform preventive maintenance on the fleet of tractors and trailers.
• Physically capable to lift and pull 75 lbs or more, stand or lie for extended periods, and maneuver to reach equipment.

DOD Skillbridge Requirements and Eligibility:

• Must be within 180 days of transition from military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard)
• Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship
• Open to all qualified transitioning active-duty U.S. service members, both officer and enlisted, of any rank and branch

Your responsibilities as a Diesel Diagnostic Technician / Mechanic will include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical tractor and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment such as JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows
• Performance preventive maintenance on our fleet of tractors & trailers
• Physically capable to perform all job duties, which includes being able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction, stand or lie for extended periods, and have flexible movement to reach equipment.

To become part of the NFI team, you:
