EMT Military Fellowship (Multiple Locations)

Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.

Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for 90 days.

We’re hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD SkillBridge Fellowship that will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients, determine necessary care, and deliver emergency services using appropriate medical techniques and equipment.
  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.
  • Provide care using EMT skills, including communication, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, and tools.
  • Operate an ambulance in accordance with safety policies and traffic laws.
  • Collaborate professionally with health and public safety personnel and fellow EMTs.
Other Responsibilities
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR's positive image and community relations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active-Duty Service Member
  • Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications
  • Available for 90 days
  • Approval from your unit commander; participation can be terminated if mission requirements demand
  • Work remotely within the continental US
  • High school diploma or GED
  • State EMT License (if applicable)
  • State Driver’s License
  • BLS, NREMT certifications
  • Clean driving record
  • Pass Physical Agility Test
  • Healthcare work experience preferred
