Job summary

Global Medical Response is offering an EMT Military Fellowship for active-duty service members. Fellows will respond to emergencies and non-emergency medical needs while gaining civilian work experience through the DOD SkillBridge program.

Participants must be active-duty, meet SkillBridge qualifications, and be able to participate within 90 days. The role may be remote in the continental US and requires EMT licensure and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Current Active-Duty Service Member.
• Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications.
• Available to participate within 90 days.
• Approval from unit commander required; SkillBridge can be terminated if mission requires.
• Work remotely in the continental US.
• State EMT license (as applicable).
• State driver's license.
• BLS, NREMT certifications.
• Driving record compliant with policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• EMTs provide patient assessment and determine necessary care, delivering emergency services.
• Document patient information, conditions, and treatment while maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked patient environment.
• Utilize EMT skills for care including communications and equipment operation.
• Operate an ambulance in line with safety policies and traffic laws.
• Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.

Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training and internships.

Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for up to 180-days.

We’re hiringEmergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) for our DOD SkillBridge Fellowshipthat will respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for medical assistance and deliver high-quality care, treatment, and customer service to patients.

Responsibilities:

• EMTs provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment.

• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.

• Take pride in providing a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients.

• Use appropriate EMT skills to provide care including communications, medical equipment, cleaning procedures, office equipment and tools.

• EMTs operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.

• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow EMTs.

Other Responsibilities:

• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

• Meets DoDSkillBridgeQualifications

• Available toparticipate90-days.
