Nevada Gold Mines is excited to announce an opportunity for transitioning service members by offering a SkillBridge opportunity for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician.
Key Program Details
This program provides an opportunity to utilize skills and knowledge pertaining to the Electrical and Instrumentation field within a mining environment. Participants will gain exposure to a wide range of operations, including underground, surface, and process facilities. Participants will work alongside experienced tradespeople and mentors, gaining practical experience with equipment and systems critical to safe and efficient mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely perform preventative maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems used in mining operations, including power distribution centers, switchgear, motors, motor controls, process controls, and instrumentation.
- Read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation circuits.
- Assist with PLC control, troubleshooting and basic programming, as well as variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Work shifts, overtime, and callouts as needed, and perform other duties as assigned while following all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience or ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation circuits.
- Experience with PLC control, troubleshooting, basic programming, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) is preferred.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and callouts as needed, and perform other duties as assigned while following all safety procedures.
