Job summary

Meridian Health Services in West Lafayette, Indiana seeks a full-time Skill Builder on day shift to join our Addictions and Recovery team. You will provide behavioral therapy, intensive rehabilitation, wellness education and post-treatment support for individuals with substance use disorders, helping rebuild their lives.

The role requires compassion, collaboration and a high school diploma with 2 years behavioral health experience; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years behavioral healthcare experience or college coursework toward a human services or health-related degree is required.
• Associate degree is preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health or social services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Counsel, monitor and support individuals experiencing substance use and mental illness disorders.
• Evaluate, prepare and implement case management plans.
• Organize and conduct client skills training and education groups.
• Assist with maintaining 24/7 staff coverage including working other shifts as needed.
• Assess and monitor residents' behaviors and intervene as appropriate.
• Crisis intervention.
• Prepare and maintain written case records, reports and forms including case follow up and closing.
• Maintain Meridian Health Services standards, policies, procedures and regulations in accordance with local, state and federal laws and with ethical standards of profession.
