Job summary

Appone in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking a motivated skid fabricator to build wooden skids for conveyors and finished goods. You will read BOMs, run work orders, and calculate specifications to ensure secure shipment of equipment. This role requires the use of nail guns, impact wrenches, hand tools, and forklift operations.

You will maintain skid logs, manage inventory of shipping materials, and keep the work area clean and safe while collaborating with a team in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate wooden skids according to specifications for conveyors that are shipping.
• Attach conveyor to skid ensuring safe shipping and movement.
• Read bill of materials and work orders and calculate specifications.
• Operate power tools including nail guns, impact wrenches, and hand tools.
• Operate stand up lift and forklift.
• Update and maintain skid building log and inventory of wooden shipping materials.
• Keep area clean and organized; follow safety rules and complete paperwork accurately.
• Report labor accurately and perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fabricate wooden skids according to specifications for conveyors that are shipping.

Attach conveyor to skid assuring the safe shipping and movement of conveyor.

Read bill of materials, work orders, and calculate specifications.

Use power tools including nail guns, impact wrenches, and common hand tools.

Operate stand up lift and forklift.

Update and maintain skid building log.

Maintains inventory of wooden shipping materials.

Keep the area clean and organized.

Work in a team environment and follow safety rules.

Complete paperwork correctly and report labor accurately

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
